Great to be back after almost exactly a year since my last fully planning day.

Started the experience by downing an obscene ammount of Stella with J... on Saturday evening....great training.

Hit the beach at about midday Sun. Tide on the way in, sun in the sky and about 20MPH blowing. Rigged the 6.7 after much debate and lent J... my 6M as some of his kit is 'stuck' in the loft of his old house.

Despite nerves after such a long break, waded out to knee depth, jumped on and 10ft later was on the plane, in harness and straps! Yeeehhhhahhhh........

Went all the way accross the bay, past the jetty and almost all the way to the marina. Continued in this vane for about 1-1.5 hours, never fell in, but then did not try much other than revelling in being back on the water.

Went in and sent JaneBo out. She was a little overpowered on the 6.7 (sorry should have rigged the 5.7 for you!), but after a slightly shakey start got a good set of runs in.

J... was also having a good day (straps, harness planning etc) on the Phoenix, they really are a great board, very forgiving and comfy to sail!

Second session of the day was a bit harder. The chop had picked up and the wind was gusting more, with some 'holes' as well. Found that I have lost the knack of water-starts/deepwater beach-starts, but did manage to get there eventually. Arms were very tired and probably only sailed for another40 mins, before going back in.

First day full on windsurfing as a family and the lad did well, but I think we need better entertainment for him if we want to spend a long time on the water. J.... and SJ helped with 'baby control' thanks guys.....Lets hope we can all get another good session in soon.

Got to get the full 5 stars....good sail, fab weather and good company.......when can I get out again?
